    Who We Are 

The Coast Guard's philosophy is to Semper Paratus (Always Ready) against all maritime threats and hazards. The Coast Guard Auxiliary is an integral part of the Coast Guard.  We are the civilian, all-volunteer, uniformed unit of the Coast Guard. We are engaged in many activities to support the Coast Guard's missions.

The Auxiliary has members in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Guam.  We conduct safety patrols on local waterways, assist the he Coast Guard with homeland security, teach boating safety classes to the public, conduct free vessel safety checks and much more.

 Our Vision

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, the 30,000-strong uniformed volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard, embraces its vision to be the best trained, most valued maritime volunteer organization in the world – highly effective during normal operations and ready for emergencies.

Our Mission

  • Promoting and improving Recreational Boating Safety.
  • Providing trained crews and facilities to augment the Coast Guard and enhance the safety and  security of our ports, waterways, and coastal regions.
  • Supporting Coast Guard operations, administration and logistical requirements.
